1717 – New easy to remember telephone number for animal welfare 2014-01-13
The Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Roderick Galdes, has announced a new phone number, 1717 for direct contact with the Animal Welfare, Promotion and Services Directorate.
The easy to remember number will ensure that the public will be able to make direct contact at all times with the Directorate for Animal Welfare, Promotion and Services.
1717 calls will be immediately transferred to the number of the offices and after office hours, to the number of the animal ambulance. This service is active 24 hours, seven days a week.
The 1717 service is so that the public may request assistance from the animal ambulance for stray animals that are injured, sick or needing immediate care, as well as make reports on animal cruelty.
